I put a new CMP stock on my Garand. I am in the process of fixing the ugly color and going tung oil vs linseed. I also don't like the repro metal. It's just too light. Does anyone know if the quality is below that of original metal? I have the original stock still and was thinking about putting the old metal (that has no park left on it) on the new wood. Thoughts?
