I received my 6.0 million rifle this morning from CMP.
It's one of their typical service grade with a CMP walnut stock.

I'm trying to figure out if the rifle is one that S/A built with leftover parts or if CMP built it
Most of the parts seem correct for a postwar rifle, just not sure if correct for the the S/N range

receiver s/n 6094882 original finish
barrel built 1/55 with firing proof, DOD stamp and "M"
muzzle is "1" T/E is "3" chamber in the white
op rod 653582 SA
follower and slide is stamped 11
bolt is postwar S/A heat lot A15
windage knob unmarked, most likely S/A
elevation knob is FZR
trigger housing is postwar S/A
hammer is SA C5546008
safety is a MXR
gas cylinder is wide base with S/A front sight and beveled gas lock

I still have to modify the stock to prevent the op rod from binding.

I also hope CMP didn't send me a rifle with an exploding bolt :D

Every one of the 6mils I've seen so far has CMP wood. Anyone get one with USGI furniture?

Orest clearly stated in a post that they would be almost all replacement wood. I heard of a few at the stores with USGI wood

I'd sure like a 6 mil. When one of you guys get tired of yours, let me know. I have stuff to trade.

FYI, Bob Moore over on the CMP forum is hinting that he might want to get rid of his 6 mil already

Very nice Jak but its hard to appreciate the rifle with such a beautiful back yard.

The clearing you see through the trees belong to the neighbor. Behind me is nothing but square miles of woods, a small river and old abandoned coal mining roads.
The dog loves it back there.

Honest question...not a needle...What's so special about the 6 mil rifles? Is it just that they are later models?
