BLO question

I have been periodically rubbing in BLO on my new stock. After a few days it seems the stock is getting darker. Is this just my eyes playin tricks on me or does the wood get darker with each coat of BLO??

It is as dark as it will get after the first few coats. It will darken more over time as the oil oxydizes and ages.

I've found that using old, nasty BLO gives the wood a much deeper, darker color faster. I don't even put it on a stock til i know it's been sitting in the garage for at least a year
