So M14 has this lug "issue" posted on jouster as well. He implores Gus Fisher and warbirds to back him on his theory but all I hear are crickets.

Gus, I really wish you would comment on my findings and perhaps share any of your findings as well, that may quantify and corraborate this condition for me and others. I know you have seen thousands of them, and I recall a post of yours saying the number one failure in inspections, was the receiver. Was this the primary reason for the failures ? I know the receiver bridge wear was one, but I need your vast experience and input on this other issue with the left lug and contact gaps.
Warbird, your input would also be appreciated. Have you seen this on Military M1's ?
