Need opinions

Saw this the other day and want to jump on it but was hoping some of my friends here with a trained eye might tell me if they think it's legit.

I like it, except for the Weatherby high gloss finish.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of that either but I'll deal with it.

I don't know if it a legit stock or not, the finnish can be redone too look more period correct.

Phil what can I do to get that sheen off of it but not damage the finish
or is there anything that I can do.

A very well used green scotchbrite pad and alot of elbow grease too gently rub the outside of the stock works for me. This rifle was very glossy looking and I knocked it down alot. The pic looks dark but its the best my cellphone could do. If I wan't the stock to shine for a range date some lemmon oil with bee's wax will gloss her up for a short time and after a few whipe downs with a soft dry rag shes back to plane jane. I didn't want the incased or dipped look I was shooting for well used over the years and also be protected at the sametime.
