I see that schuster has two different ones which one is preferred?

I beleive the only difference, one is cross slot the other single slot. Both the same as far as function. I would think most guys get cross slot

Off topic but....
Has the Garand gear plug been proven to work? It would seem to be a much simpler solution to cycling. There was a big discussion on cmp earlier this year, with some for, some against. But if I recall correctly, no one had used it on a wide variety of ammo.

Has a BTer tested it?

I just dont see how it could work for all brands of ammunition as it is not vented. If I were going to use one it would be a Schuster or McCain
I beleive Tim said it doesnt work on the Shortened Garands, Mini G ,etc

The Garand gear plug is not much different, if any different, from the BM59 plug. I've had cycling issues with them on tankers and Mini-G's.
