why are there 2 types of Beretta receivers and why the girnd cuts on some?

The ones on the left marked "7.62-2" are from the Italian "Tipo 2" conversions where a .30-06 barrel was shortened about 1/2" on the breech end and rechambered to 7.62 NATO.
This is the same reason why they were ground, the "Cal. .30" was removed.
The "FKF" is a Danish Beretta, they stayed .30 until the end.
