Does anyone reload .30-06 specifically for the Mini G? I was thinking a reduced powder charge from regular M2 loads would be useful in reducing muzzle flash.
However I'm not sure if the case volume of the .30-06 cartridge is too large to do this.

Buzzy loads my 30/06 and 35 Whelen hot. I have him load my .308 on the sissy side.

IMR4895 is the powder of choice for many experienced 30/06 Garand shooters.
However I have been using IMR3031 in the 308 and other cartridges for so long that when I wanted to load up some 30/06 hunting ammo for my Roland Beaver Tanker Garand, I used IMR 3031 as I had a lot of it on hand.
So I did some research on Garand 30/06 Match loads from the old days with IMR 3031.
Here are the loads that shot good in my Tanker. NONE of them are hot loads in my rifle or in the Lyman 45th Edition Loading Book.
With 150gr bullets 48gr.
With 165/168gr bullets 46gr.
With 180gr bullets 44gr.
My favorite all round hunting load for game smaller than elk is the Sierra 165gr HPBT GameKing with an OAL of 3.210 and 46gr of IMR 3031.
For elk or big bears I would use the 180 Nosler Partition, or 180 Sierra GameKing with 44 gr of IMR 3031.
AS always, start a grain or two lower and work up for accuracy in your particular rifle.
However, my loads are not near max loads in my rifle, they are easy on the gun and the brass, and they shoot great...

My loads are done with only one thing in mind, accuracy. My 30/06 and 35 whelen Mini-G's seem to like it hot and my .308 Mini-G seems to like it mild.
