You got to love those gun shows! I was visiting with a friend when a guy offered an unrestored 1911 for a really decent price. It appears that he had been around the dealers an was told what a worthless piece of ----- he had with offers of 100.00 to 200.00 dollars. The only thing this pistol needs is a 1911 slide stop and a 1911 barrel. Even at that I was rejecting offers. Went to see my buddy in Devine . He gave it his approval advised me I had made a great deal and looking for a good 1911 barrel. The finish is what you can expect of a used gun made in 1917. Some finish left and the markings are still nice and crisp! Looks like a keeper.

Gotta see some photos and more details. I was in the market for a WW1 1911 last year, and even shooters with no finish were $700+. The dealers offering him $100-200 were fools.
