Almost two years ago I started a 1911 build to commemorate Mr. Brownings most venerable weapon the dependable and very deadly 1911 .45 ACP. The build started with a Wilson Combat frame/slide and mostly WC bulletproof parts. I fitted the parts and must say it turned out a great shooter. I had a local artist engraver http://www.flannerygunengraving.com
to fancy it up a little then shipped it off to Wilson to install the sights. I then sent it to Alchemy 1911 to have a little barrel work and to have the finish applied. Here is a picture just before the finish. It's coming home next week and I'll post pictures of the finished project. it's been a while but i think it will be well worth the wait and the work.

I can't wait to see it completed either. This has been a long and more expensive build than I had planned. However I think it's going to be well worth the wait and the dollars. It costs more to build and tune 1911's than it does M1 Garands, not make since bigger should cost more.

Your picture is such a tease. I want to see more of the engraving!
