I have two(2) .308 barrels and I am trying to decide which one to use for a BM-59 paratrooper build. Which one would make your life easier?

.308 Criterion or a Berretta BM59 Rifle barrel marked "SIAU 1967 M P" and "PB-D-35448"

I understand that you have to cut the barrel down to a shorter length just wondering which one to use.

Thank you.

I think the SIAU will give you handguard problems.

I had Tim cut down a BM 59 barrel as you are discussing.
Stew is correct. You will have problems with the handguard.
The handguard clip will be approximately 1/2" in front of the clip groove in the barrel on the right side.

Requires a custom built handguard clip. Pain in the xxx.

Go with the Criterion

Now this is the way forums are supposed to be. Positive, Constructive answers that help each other out.

But not as much fun as liberal bashing.
