Built this Garand up from a CMP receiver from August of 1942. Tim worked his magic on the parkerizing and barrel installation. Thanks a lot Tim!

I notice the cigar on the floor in the first picture. You must not be married. I do love the rifle. What barrel did you have spun on it?

Nope, not married! The barrel is a 30-06 Criterion from the CMP. This rifle will be my shooter. My HRA correct will be a safe queen but come out on special occasions. Haven't got to shoot this rifle yet, hopefully I'll get the chance over the 4th of July.

I remember back in the day Polk was some high end audio gear, along with McIntosh, AR, Advent and others. Seems everyone was in cambridge, mass.

I'm married and cigars are frequently smoked on my ranch. The wife likes the smell of the things as do the neighboring ladies in the area. Good looking rifle and nice photo's Sir.

I understand that they have some fine cigar shops in Jerome, Michigan.

Very nice M1, something about the 6 digit with new wood and Tims magic worked on it. Thanks for the pics and enjoy the rifle .

I also have an M1 dated from 1942 (March) and I'm going to rebuild mine as well. I hope it comes out as nice as yours.
