Anyone ever saw one before, any idea what they are worth?
There is a kid that had a rifle passed down to him and is firing the thing. I'm not sure thats a good idea with the early springs they have to be worth a good sum.. Any comments

Save him from himself!! That combo is worth THOUSANDS.........Dan could probably give a better market price, but I know they have gone for $3000(and that was just the springs, if I recall)

Is the rifle the kid's shooting in gas trap configuration? And, is that follower and the springs you posted off of that rifle?

Off topic, but I just looked at my username and below it, it says cadet. That's funny because I teach cadets. I haven't [I]been[I] a cadet in 15 years.

Yes the parts pictured are on the rifle. He has what seems to be a all correct late 1940 Garand. Unfortuantly someone sporterized the stock! Other than that it all ssems right.
I convienced him not to fire it anymore

So it's a gas port rather than gas trap? Still cool if so. Too bad the stock is sporterized.
