This is my first restoration on an m1,gimme some feedback.i can take the beating so let me have it.the pictures really do no justice.ive seen many reparks at the shows and they are nice but this coloring is just the way i think it should be.im gonna let shuff take a crack at my next one.im gonna try to build a perfect copy of an m1d.the flash has the wood looking light,but in regular sunlight its quite dark.

Actually, it is not lead dipped. Just the way the light was hittin the receiver.

i work at dsa so i had it aluminum oxide bead blasted,then parked in my phosphate tanks for 15 minutes.it took me awhile to get all the colors to match perfectly,but it has a greenish color to it.the metal was almost unissued perfect and all the parts with the exception of the milled triggergaurd are correct to this rifle.the gas cylinder was painted with a duracoat "parker"color paint,and the stock was a dupage that i hand sanded and finished.i originally put a boyds on but didnt like the oversized dimentions, so i sold that and got the dupage which i liked much more.the pink grease is shooters choice and as long as its grease i think it will be fine.i shot my first cmp match with it and she ran flawlessly. all the range officers where all over it too wondering if it was new original .

Just look at the pink grease.
Even with pink grease I knew it wasn't a Shuff park and I love Shuff's park. It just looked different when enlarged.

my bad i Accidentally deleted them, now heres a question my duff post war book tells me that a barrel marked with a 2-56 is supposed to be a match setup but there are no NM stamps on it anywhere,what gives???

I had no idea that just because a barrel was 2-56 it HAD to be a match barrel. Nice looking rifle sir.

According to the book in that serial number range with that date it was supposed to be nm.im still learning though.
