Sling options...

I'm running the risk of getting a little Mall Ninjaish, but what are you guys using for slings on your mini-gs? I'm looking for something like a patrol rifle tactical sling, I know nothing about slings other than the standard USGI Web slings.

Not really looking to screw anything into my stock.

My Mini-G has a ultimak mount and scout scope on the front so I plan to use it with a BM59 front side Swivel mount (stock Fuerrel) and the standard rear.

Any recommendations?

I don't have my G yet, but saw the sling in the post by Torque and recoil (mini G range report) and ordered one of Todd Dows Riflecraft slings. I had never used a loop sling before. I mounted it on an M14 type. So far I really like the loop, I think it definitely improves control when shooting offhand. I also like the sling tutorial he's got on his site. The sling appears to be well made. The biggest complainet I've got (not with the sling) is that I'm used to being able to remove my slings and use them on multiple rifles, the M1/M14 sling mounts don't lend themselves to that, unless I were to add an intermediate piece with a quick release. I may try to adapt a quick releae cup to the M14 style sling mounts.

Yes, that's the one I ordered. As mentioned, I find it annoying that I can't remove the sling, but that a function of the mounts, not the sling. I don't know if you've used loop type slings before, the unique feature of this one (for me) is the loop, I've never had a loop type sling before. If you have no use for the loop, his RS 2 might be a good choice, but I've not tried that one.

not sure how much of an advantage the loop slings are going to be for a Garand, but once I've got my G, I plan to try the rifle craft sling on it.
