Anyone have a WRA with original Dulite finish, is this what it looks like???
The finish on this receiver is very smooth, dark with a purpleish hue in certain light. Anyone ever seen another this color?
I'm trying to decide if its a USGI finish or commercially done

Bill , I think I have a few in that range that are a blackish worn finish with out the purple hue that are Danes. I received a handful of various manufactures from the early Greeks that had the purple hue, never cared for it so they all went down the road. I will check them out tomorrow.

Wasn't that purple hue common on Win receivers and trigger housings? I remember getting 2 trigger housings from Dupage like that.

Bill, my WRAs are not like that, I do remember a few HRA greeks looking like that. I went thru rifles and noticed a 2.8 mil SA with the purple hue, it was a correct br from the cmp , I never noticed the purple till hitting it with the light.

I've seen the purple thing, even done it myself. I have not seen the purple/black on anything from the CMP except what I thought was a greek job. I have seen what I thought was a dulite finish, but without the purple, but I have no idea if I am correct in my opinion on those specimens.
