I am looking at getting a brass/bullet tumbler.

What brands do you guys use and would suggest? What size would be most efficient?

Is there anything else that I should look at or pay attention to.

Just doing basic reserch at the moment.

I have this one:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/711534/hornady-m-2-case-tumbler-110-volt

It works fine. I don't do a ton with it, but haven't had any problems. Walnut shells are my media of choice and they get nice and shiny with a little case polish added in. Corn Cob didn't get them as shiny as I wanted.

I think all the vibratory ones work about the same. Probably come from the same factory in China. Thumbler's Tumblers are highly regarded, but in a different price class.

That's basically the same tumbler I have, just made by Frankford Arsenal.
Put a little NuFinish Once a Year Car Wax in with and they will shine!!

Brinks, I too have the Frankford. It is bigger, cheaper, and works just as good as the brands selling for 2x the price.

I use the Lyman orange bucketed tumblers..Never had any trouble, other than cleaning the bowl out..I agree corncobs clean well, but the brass doesn't shine much..Now using Midways brass polish.. Never thought of nufinish car wax, and i have used it on cars for years?

My local Chinese Embassy (Harbor Freight Tools) had some vibratory tumblers the last time I was there for pretty cheap. They also had some bigger ones as well. Same design as the ones we use for brass, I'm sure they would work fine, not sure if they'd last or not. But for the price might get you started.

It's just like picking out a Service Grade at the North Store. It's all in the selection process. :)
