The kid from Chicago did it again this year... His southernification is going well.

He stepped up from his Great Grandfathers .410 to a 20 gauge 870 this year. 3" Federal Heavyweight #7.

He passed a shot on a jake at 15 steps hoping a gobbler would come close. His decision and it was the right one. I didn't get a lot of practice with the trumpet pre-season but it was what the bird wanted to hear.

The bird slipped behind us and my nephew had to make a move. The turkey busted him but the 7's got there first.

Today is the last day of NC youth season. Hopefully we have two birds cooperate on opening morning!

What a smile, thats one happy proud kid there. I love to see pictures like that , very nice.
