I have come across some op rods for sale. Described as "unmarked, unfinished, uncut, unknown manufacturer". Anyone have any ideas on them, stay away? Risk getting one to see if they are worth working with? Thanks for any input folks.

I've seen them. They are some sort of chinese or other repro. The ones I saw were dead soft and not to spec. People were pawning them as early SA's.

What's the price? That would largely affect my risk tolerance.

Got sucked into a couple a while back. They are great - as long as you don't mind having to disassemble your rifle and rebend the op rod after EVERY ROUND.

Thanks for all the input. They are a ebay "deal" at $75.00. I will take a pass on them. ZB.

I got a few from overseas a number of years ago. They were, of course, too good to be true at the price I paid, but I thought "what's the worst that could happen?". Well, they are good for decorative purposes only. I'd say worth $5-10 tops.

The one's Sean had also had oversized pistons, they were amazing.
