Well... my Underwood is back from Tim's and the zinc park turned out great. In shipping the barrel band rubbed some spots into the barrel but it was nothing that a little Oxpho-Blue couldn't help.
While he had it, he found that the bolt wouldn't pass the Go gauge so he reamed the chamber for me without asking for any more dough.
So all I can say is Tim; you rock! I'm going to be sending you memento of my gratitude in the mail in the next few days as a thank you. Thanks mucho.

Yup, they are all original. I'm sure people are going to give me a load of crap for having them re-parked but they were in pretty sad shape.
Here's what they looked like before Tim got ahold of it. The previous owner had polished off all of the park and attempted to blue the rifle.
It had been sitting in a garage for many years and it was my duty to bring her back to glory. Luckily most of the rust was just on the surface and was taken off with steel wool.

Only for these photos. It's back in the highwood stock now. I will post photos soon... or whenever it dries out in the Pacific Northwest so I can take some decent photos.

I was talking to Tim when he was working on that one. He was having his doubts as the rifle was heavily polished but it appears the patient survived. Capn Bob, you saved that rifle.

Here's the stock it came with. (I use the term stock loosely... it's mostly glue and brass rivets)
I removed the shelac, lightly sanded then finished with USSR stain and some Tom's 1/3 mix.

Yeah......Why did you ditch the hi-wood stock? Looks like a nasty split on the right side...repairable?
