Military Surplus to your Local Police dept. WHAT????

Yesterdays MEM. paper listed some interesting details a bout how the Police can order equipment that is now Surplus..The ITEm that caught my eye was over two Dozen M-14 Sniper rifles ? Five went to my little suburb town, with 10 m-4 assault rifles and THREE GRENADE launchers???So far they ordered or reported the armored cars coming to town..Germantown, TN. is another small Groupie town, ordered the same m-14 rifles, M-4 rifles and a 875k dollar Mine resistant armored vech, to go with their other armored swat truck..???

I don't know about you all but I love the thought of my police having armored cars and military grade weapons when the time comes to come on over and collect my guns. Won't it be grand!

Nothing to see here...move along...watch American Idol...buy the new Iphone...Police are your friend...if you haven't done anything wrong why are you worried...I've heard every excuse for why cops needs this stuff. Post Katrina N.O. and the recent MO activity shows exactly why they want it. Instead of responding with level 2 they turned the knob straight up to 11.

Most cops are good people. There are, however, a significant amount of them that want to play like they are in Fallujah in your neighborhood.

I still remember my OATH to my country.....yesterday over on CMP there was a site that list ed by state and county..All the free hArdware that is being givin to the cops..every cop in my county got a free, 38 special, free 1911a1 pistol, probably an m4 and maybe an M-14 rifle..Then you get to the trucks, gen-sets, fork lifts, and ect...yes I still want my m26 tank..

Interestingly enough it looks like Brevard County, Florida picked up 5 Apache gunships.

So they ordered a Submarine.
I think they thought they were getting a sandwich.
