I went to a local gunshop today to see what the guy would give me for my Springfield Sept. 1941 Garand. The Rifle is CORRECT as it came from the MFG.

He offered me 500 bucks...........obviously he doesn't know this particular type of rifle at all.

Never sell a rifle to a LGS unless you owe money to the mob and he's about to break your knee caps unless you give him cash now, even then ask if he'll let you sell it on GB first...

Most people wouldnt know the difference between a correct or origonal rifle and a mixmaster.
If the rifle is truly original and you have provenance list it on Gunbroker with many clear, up close detailed pictures and you should get good $$$

I have a few pictures on Photobucket, but it's been so long since I sent links from there I don't remember how to do it.

Reason I ask is I would like to see which follower arm its has, flat back or double faced.
I have a correct Dec 1941 Garand that I picked up last year

Not sure if this helps Orlando, but my S/N dates to October '41 I think. I can't say that everything is correct, but here are some pics of my components and the follower arm.

Notice that super sexy gas cylinder...

Of course stock is Dupage. Gas cylinder screw, front sight assembly and stock hardware are Standard Parts LLC, but I still have the grooved rear handguard band and single slot cylinder screw that came with the rifle. They will be sent along with the rest of the rifle to Mr. Shufflin when I can scratch together enough funds for a park job.

Orlando, that's a nice 41 rifle..I guess you decided not to steam out those op rod dents on the left side? On a rifle that nice, i would have to try gentle steaming, I bet they would pop out at least half as deep... Anyway like it ...

That rifle has the "been there done that look" so I dont want to mess with the stock.

yeap, That's perfectly understandable, but sometimes I just cannot help myself...removing large dents,,even being a beginer, i bought a beater stock and worked it, then i was hooked...But most of the time, I buy a rifle to shoot it..
