If I find enough interest, I'll consider it. Enough interest would be about 25 requests on this thread.

I don't speak Italian.

While I sold my conversion kit and thought I was no longer interested I've recently been giving thoughts to it again. So please count me in towards the 25 number.

I've thought about this a tiny bit more and if Mike Baker would moderate the forum, that's what it would take. I would need a guy like Mike because he can both answer questions and he knows those with answers.

I would like to see this also. I do not own one YET. I did have a chance and frantically posted here with question, ELI quickly had all my answers with lots of info. I ended up passing but still could purchase it just waiting for him to come off the price some. Thanks Eli for you r help back then. Tim thanks for the forum also. Tom

Eli, are you also a BM59 aficionado? If you are, I'm sorry for the slight sir. I only know how to make the things and nothing about the history. It would be great if Eli was also somewhat of an authority on the 59 and both he and Mike could help with that forum.

I don't know if I know as much as Mike, but I know a bit. I go OCD about stuff and research and scour the 'net to find as much data as possible.
Mike's a cool guy, he's local to me, I've met him before. I think 3 of the most active BM59 on the internet are in the Houston area!

Tim I will help in any way that I can, but I do not know what is involved in being a moderator.
I am not too computer saavy.Eli is as knowledgable on the subject as I am,and he would be a good choice for moderator also. Mike Johnson and Boe boe(Grant Reynolds) are the authorities on the BM59's,I am just not sure how active either are these days.
I will help out,so count me in .

Mike and Eli, Eli and Mike, okay guys. I'll get with you both by Sunday and set you up a forum room. Nothing big about being a moderator at all. All you need do is make sure that I don't walk in there and use the F word or that I don't start talking about my trip to some hunting grounds. Other than that, you just try and guide people through their BM59 fix.

Okay Mike and Eli, I'm setting up the board now for you two to take on. Sorry I'm late but the fourth and my vacation had me in serious back log mode. If you two have any questions about the room, PM, email, call, smoke signal me.

OK, I have a question. A friend of mine has a bunch of small Italian parts like bolts, followers, sight bases, etc. Some are marked PB, some BMB, and I think 1 or 2 other markings. Should I start raiding his stuff? What should I be looking for as far as markings? Stu

Stu if you are planning on a BM59 build I would look for all PB marked parts.
Pinions, windage knobs,front site,rear site base,rear site cover,rear site aperature,rear handguard clip,firing pin,safety, hammer,trigger.
The bolt and extractor are a little different, they are modified on the right bottom side to allow clearance for the upper feewd lip of the BM59 magazine.
There are modified USGI BM59 bolts out there, they will be etched on top PB BM59 ,a la the Danish bolts with a engraver.
Hope this helps......
