CMP Carbine Bayo's

My 2 SG carbine bayos are sitting at the sort facility so they should arrive Mon. Unfortunately I will be on the dive boat all week and unable to post pictures.

The price is great can't wait to see what I get.Went to liberty tree gun parts ordered 5 scabbards with broken ends $5.00 a piece.
I will see if a bulk epoxie will fix them.

I just received my two SG bayos. (2 days early!!)
I could not be happier. They are covered in about 1/2 of cosmo" and appear to be brand new. One of them still has the wax wrap on it so I'm probably going to keep that one as is.
My only regret is that I did not order more than 2! Photos to come tonight.

Mine came today. My wife opened one and said it looked brand new and covered in cosmo/grease. I'll see it on Friday night and post pics.

My 2 came today. I haven't cleaned them but the metal looks good. Leather is dry but otherwise in good shape. Certainly rises to (or exceeds) the "good to fair" description.

I bought one of these in the past.Mine was in really good condition,just missing the metal tip.They CAN be easily repaired,and the tip of the blade came nowhere near the end of the scabbard.

If you need to repair these you can use Bondo car stuff.

Here is Mine.I didn't put too much into it,as all I did was mix the frayed end into epoxy,and them install a tip I had.

Nice repair Ryan. I ordered 2 USGI scabbards from "what a country". Received a VP Co and a PWH. Worth the ~$20 each cost including shipping. The other deal I thought I had didn't pan out.

I got back from the boat today and cleaned my 2 SG bayos. Both are in excellent shape, handles were DRY,blades had a few scabbard marks. One was missing the tip but it is such a small issue you can only tell if you look closely. Will post pics when I can.

These will be great trade fodder in the near future. Am thinking of getting a couple more to put away until needed.

Used some camp-stove fuel to clean the cosmo off the metal and treated the handles with some Pecard's Leather Treatment. The handles were really dry and one had a little mildew. They should be GTG now.

Those look great - my order hit a small snafu - seems that the CMP didn't have my updated (renewal) M1 Collectors Club info. I sent an email copy of my current membership card and everything is good again. I should be receiving them sometime during the coming week. Hope they look as good as yours.

they were removed from the Estore this morning. I went to grab up several more and found out the bad news.

I received mine today and all of the Norwegians look new still caked in grease. I also ordered 3 of the other bayos listed, and let me tell you they are some nasty lookers. Handles are thin and the leather and metal work looks like a caveman did the manufacturing.

BTW Charlie, the paperwork snafu was not a big deal. I bet that they had the proof of club membership all along, just somebody at CMP probably did not record it properly.

I had the same problem,They said my club membership expired.HA HA It's life membership in the VFW.I told Judy to look at my paperwork,she corrected it.

I held out to pick up a couple at the NS yesterday and when I got there? a day late. Then I logged on to order and gone too. Snooze you loose I guess. Just compounded the lackluster visit.
