This conversion was done in the 60's by Juan Erquiaga. I have to say, it is a very neat way to go about feeding the M14 mag to the Garand. It is a very long way to do it though. Enjoy the photo's.

You said it has a long way to go. Are there issues with the rifle?

Actually I said it was a long way to go. By this I mean it's a long way to get to the solution/answer/end it is trying to achieve. This mod is similar to me in the mod the Italians did to get to the BM59 when compared to how Golden State did it. Golden state did the 59 with the same result, cheaper, less parts, and maybe better.

Why don't you have a "Rollback To 1963" sale and charge $30 for the BM59 mod?

If I did that I wouldn't be able to afford the data plan on my iphone and my friends wouldn't be able to mooch off of me. You like my data don't you?

Figuring in the rate of inflation since 1963, I would pay the $231.72 to have one of my M-1 s converted!

Okay, Loved the photos from 1963..Looks like a bunch of extra small parts..Where did that gas system come from??....they also used the m-14 recoil spring to hold the front of the mag. Do YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PHOTOS OF IT?/iNTRIGUED, BY THE MANY WAYS THAT OTHERS HAVE TACKLED THE CONVERSION.? sorry locked caps in?? Og.

I posted up this rifle back in 2013 but no one knew what it was. Just found out that my rifle appears to be this interesting EM62. Here is mine again!

Very cool! That's 7.62 NATO? Looking at the pictures I can see how it could be BAR fed.

Yup, 7.62 NATO! It takes M14 magazines. So happy to finally find out where it came from! I originally thought it was a one-off from a clever machinist. I wonder how many are in the wild.

Can you post more photos of your rifle? I would like to see photos of the internals. Also what is the serial range of your rifle?
