The first is a Tula 91/30, the second a Polish Factory 11 M44, the third a Finnish Sky M39 and finally a Finnish M28/76. Its amazing what can be made out of a Sow's ear.

The Pole is a 1953, somehow it survived in decent shape to be 62 years old.

Yours are choice ,type, cannot believe your bluing on all of them...I have developed desires for the Mosins Family lately...That Pole is very nice, almost too pretty to carry and shoot..

FWIW,
The 1953 Pole is as received from Don, "Kollector03", on the CMP Forum. The 91/30 was a Russian refinish ($99.00 special) and sell to the Americans, I redid the stock. The SKY M39, dated 1942 on the barrel, was a "100%" from "Pat Burns" @ Gunsnammo and the M28/76 I would have to look up as to where that one came from. I hope I don't sound like a "smart mule" but I really do my dangest not to collect junk!

Surplus collecting, sometimes it looks like junk, but has an inner beauty... I am going to have my eye out for an 91/30 sniper when i head out to alabama..Nope, not going to annison, its on the wrong end of state, besides this is my BH idea of a getaway... If not found then, i will have to order one , and try luck of draw??Without the scope and mount it should be doable..Ha.

You mean kinda like this old beat up, plain stocked, matching number M91/30 Sniper that's ready for the trash heap? ;-) Another cousin with better long range eyesight.

I guess I will keep this old war horse for awhile longer....maybe a few Bosch were "dispatched" by a Russian woman using this one.....or it was a put together to sell to the Amerikonski.

Seriously???You are such a tease...I have figured it out you work for an Importer or a big virg. gunshop?? BUTT, That ole long barrel sniper would do well for my uses...I did not even hope to find a russian scope, was going to buy the replica fire fly or something like that..I read my russian history,The female snipers were Olympic quality and just needed a little hiding training.... my son's both came over and we had a ball blasting with the m-44... and my 7.62 type 2 garand that i built..the russain was louder and had a much bigger fireball..almost 3 ft long and a foot in diameter , with romanian st... of course the garand has the propper pb flashider attached, but it was loud too...Anyway got the bug for another russian, yugo, polish, chicom rifle, only one cure, drop some money...

Sorry Old Guard, I didn't mean to tease.......I have been collecting for a lot of years but I never, ever posted any pictures because I just never took the time to learn how. Blame Bill, "Orlando"........he walked me through the process and I thank him for that and......well I quess I posted a little too much stuff too soon. I REALLY LOVE this old stuff and if I came across as a wise a$$ I appologise to you and the group. My tail is tucked and I will find my place as you folks get to know me. But some of my stuff is....... OK.

I was just cracking off..First Place I am fairly new here, ONE of the only Southern Guys who visits..I hope I am considered a BT brother here myself...You were not teasing, No Apology needed, actually appreciate your gunporn...I have been digging in barrels and crates a long time too..Russian and all the copies, Ignored them...I collected the Mauser variations because of their machine work...recently kicked a couple crates and saw some inner beauty, had not realized some of these rifles had been to real refurb, then saw I could buy a couple for what a single garand cost..And no one can beat the .25 cent ammo..Sean had written about the $59.00 door-kicker specials up north at some chain store..Down here in the Humid south we never saw that good a deal on them..Two months ago, I saw the 91/30s at show for $159.00 out the door with the bag of accessories..Lgs had them for $189.00 for premium super delux finish... Now I am on the look out for a sniper or very clean rifle when I go out of state... A day late as usual, for the big deals..Still need some advice on the scope mounts, I read that there are Three different pin spacings on the recievers..Anyway, show me somemore details of what to look for ..thanks..

Old Guard, It would seem that we are proud Johnny Rebs. Those northern boys seem to forget that it was they that invaded, burned, plundered, pillaged, stole and basically ruined the South. After the war they had homes to go to, we, in a lot of cases did not. Now they wonder why WE are still fighting the WAR LOL! Anyway, since you are a Mauser guy tell what you think of these three old war horses....

The bottom one is a 1917 all matching M96 Swede, the middle one is an all matching 1895 Chilean, Loewe Berlin and the top one is a 1943 BNZ Model K98K all matching with a cupped laminated stock. The pictures aren't as good as the rifles.

I like all three, Yes the South is still in turmoil....I don't have that model K98.. Did you know that 6.5x55 ammo is about A dollar a shot now??My rifle looks exactly like the bottom one, one of the loudest I own..My chile rifle is the calvary model, shorter and I think it is 7.62 nato..

Well the trip to Alabama was a bust as to getting to go into many gunshops..I did not find the first Mosin rifle, and very few warsurplus models....Still trying to decide If i want to mailorder another one?? ...tough to get old, and make good decisions now, and just entered the golden years..I did go to a fantastic Military Museum,Continental war to Afganistan, they had loads of nice rifles... and field gear...Always like to look at those items..Would have maxed out the plastic, if available...had to fight the urge to go to Anniston, while i was in Madison, al..The BH was just great, we had a good getaway..
