I shot a 200 yard, double "A" CMP match today. First 200 yard-for-score in almost 30 years. I totally sucked hind tit, but I had one Helluva good time doing it.

Hell Jon.....I don't even think i could see the target at 200 yards. I remember shooting those silkouettes at 300 during Army basic in '71....but that was a lifetime ago.

It was a CMP G/S/M match so my guess is that they were standard SR targets. The X ring was about 3'ish inches. The best part was, because I'm now in the Senior Class (I turned 60 last Dec), I got to start in position and didn't have to get into prone from standing. Not sure I could do that now. It would probably take me half of the allotted time just to get down now-lol.

Okay Jon, congrats of becoming a young senior...I don't shoot at any NRA events, but I do have a few targets that show some types of events...Now 3 inches is not very big spot, for that yardage..my problem is the wide standard blade on front takes up a lot of room in my sight picture...it has been a whole lot of years since I pulled targets for the guard practice..Do remember it was for our issue of the new m-16 rifles...HA.. ;Confused;

I ALWAYS have fun with my gun but I had fun with my rifle.

I finished 19th out of 22. During the rapid prone, round 5 extracted only half of the casing and left the front end in the chamber and there were no alibi strings so I dropped a considerable amount of points or else I would've finished in the middle. I had an X, a 10, 2-9's and a 7 when the gun falmunctioned. Methinks new brass is in order before the next match.
