Northern Fairy Tale v. Southern Fairy Tale

What's the difference between a Northern Fairy Tale and a Southern Fairy Tale?
A Northern Fairy Tale begins, "Once upon a time,.................." and a Southern Fairy Tale begins, "Y'all ain't gonna' believe this,......................."
