IHC arrives, stock question

I took a chance and opted for an IHC/LMR FG when I was told the Gappers were sold out.

This thing is dripping with machine oil.

From what I can tell so far the part breakdown is as follows:

Bolt (IHC)

Trigger Group
TG Housing (SA-12)
Hammer (SA C55446008)
Plunger without wings
Trigger guard - stamped

Op Rod (IHC)

Rear Sight
Windage (DRC)
Elevation (NHC)
Rear sight base ("B")

Clip Latch ("B")
Op rod catch ("D")

Front Sight (wide ear .770)

Gas plug screw (NHC IHC)

Stock (walnut, no definitive cartouches, looks to be a very light ghost cartouche of an SA over EMcF, Winchester buttplate I think... it has a line surrounding the checkering, bottom screw hole ~2x size of top hole, short channel, SA profile porch and op rod cut, clip latch cutout is beveled toward the outside of the stock)

My question, is there any significance to the difference in screw hole size? I do not recall seeing that on my other rifles but also have not taken the buttplate off in a long time, if ever.

Other than the barrel measurements (3 mz, 2 throat, I was hoping for a little better measurements) I am pleased with the number of IHC parts and the overall condition of the rifle.

Winchester buttplate has a "2S" on the back side of it. I think that the larger screw hole was HRA?

Ther buttplate on the left is what is found on IHC rifles. Notice of the bumps/bulges by the hinge are more defined than the SA on the right that blends in?

Not ALL Winchester butt plates have the 2S stamp on them.

On WRA buttplates is the lower hole is offsetand the in the checkering will have pointed ends with sharp boarders around all of the checkering

2S buttplates were also found on some original SA Garands

That is what the buttplate looks like.

After cleaning and putting it back together I noticed a couple things.

The gas cylinder is stamped with an uppercase M on the top closest to the forward handguard, and a "B" on the underside behind the bayonet lug.

The stock has a good crack/split from the "mag well" forward. Not sure how stable it will be. I'm pretty sure it is a WW2 stock though (beveled clip latch cutout, not exactly straight but not exactly scooped at the bottom). I can barely make out a serifed circle P at the pistol grip.

Opinions on the stock?

Are all the alphabet labeled parts IHC?

Buttplate is IHC , lettered parts are IHC, Gas Cylinder is not IHC as they were not letter marked as ONE Garand book author will tell you

Here is my original IHC , not from the last two CMP releases.
Earlier follower rods may have beveled lugs, also later rifles may have flat lugs without the dash marks as mine has. Follower rod should have indenst on boths sides, hammer spring housing should have square windows. IHC Front sights have large dumbo ears and can also be slightly narrower variety, screw will be crosshatched
