Hello all,
There is a locally listed H&R Garand from 1950, it has only three pics, but two caught my interest.
I'm not looking or buy, so don't let that stop you if you are in the area.

Both show a punch Mark, I don't believe I have seen that before, do any of you have any idea what it might mean?

Ageed, Mine have them too...Don't belive they were to test the hardness though..just that it had been inspected or thru a certain set of machining..I thought the barrel punch was that it had been test fired, but now not sure?

Yes they are proof firing marks not hardness punches

yes, that was my thoughts too..they did not look sharp enough..it has been a long time since i worked in a factory, they had some punch testing there for quality control....I have only noticed the rec. punches on the hra rifles, but I do not own a IHC or winchester version..

Thanks guys, I just thought it odd to punch the receiver where they did.
