I'm not talking about the 7.62 conversion. This is My last parts kit and I wanted to use it.I don't have the 1/45 barrel on,but have it.Op rod is uncut-9 flat.I don't have op rod spring and follower rod in right now BTW.

I have never seen one with the 7.62-2 marking on the receiver like that. I have seen the side of the op rod marked 7.62 and the sight spring cover marked the same way. Did you mark the receiver?

Well it will make a good shooter. I tend to shoot my 308 more so than my 06 as ammo is cheaper and at this point the recoil for the kids is lighter, but my daughter informs me the the M1 was designed as an 06! She weighs about 115 lbs and handles the recoil quite well.BTW if you have a feed problem get the spacer as it keeps the ammo in line in the enbloc during recoil.

Humpy
As my 308 can not in anyway be considered "correct" I have a scope mount I am going to use on it and see if my shooting improves! Also the leather cheek piece. That way if I lose my front sight I can still shoot. Darn bifocals.

Damn! Beat me to it Kid. The feed-guide at the bottom of the chamber should be at 6: 00( Indexing-20 minutes before straight up).

so far there has been some fine detective work, but no one has nailed down all of it.I have left some clues in the pictures. The barrel is not indexed because it is only hand tight.I just threw everything together for pics, and I do have the 1/45 barrel that I bought off of O to go with the 3.4-5 million range Receiver that I'll have someday,as almost everything is"correct"for that range....just using what I have on hand.

Ryan,
Is that a milled grove on the reciver? Is that how they removed the Cal. .30 M1? I never have seen one marked like that.

Guy,
not sure if it is milled,or Rolled. It is perfect, and I can see the Ghost of cal.30M1 in the right light.

Ryan, the inside of the receiver looks welded up to make a feed ramp-or is that an optical illusion?

To bad it was cut like that as I know some one who might have put it back in shape. Front half is good, rear is destroyed! A real loss to the M1 collectors and just admirers of the Garand.

It is truly heartbreaking,I know.I wish I had a rear that was just cut and would match up,but all the ones I can find are sheared :(
