Correct. The barreled action had to be shipped to an ffl so I wont have it until the end of the week. I love the safe act.

Is it one of the Remington shops trade backs with a new receiver? And what kind of metal back up sights---Redfield?

Yup. I got lucky. They either came with the Redfields or OK Weber. I got the Redfield Palma and Olympic front. Some kits came with no iron sights at all.

Yes again. Again I got lucky as the receiver is not marked with that scan code thing and the barrel just says 7.62 NATO instead of that soliloquy on the newer ones.

Put it into perspective....Same concept as a Bulgarian AK kit--everything except the receiver and barrel. Only difference is Rem didn't have to do a Form 6 for the kits... LOL.........sweet deal for Rem. Nice setup by the way.

Yeah, now that you mention it,,,,,,was there not some HMMWV's sold out of a GE or Gen Dynamics facility in NY state a year or so ago. All time biggie is whoever had the foresight to give the DARPA XM-3 rifles to the CMP....Yeah, sometimes the "accepted impossible to happen" happens.
