Correct gas port for 19" BM59 barrel?

How far is the muzzle from the gas port? If this is a "standard like" muzzle I'd say anywhere from .062" to .071" with an 18.5" oprod spring.

I'm trying to build a BM1--a Garand-BM59 hybrid.

Could I just use a BM59 gas cylinder with a Criterion .308 tanker barrel? The tanker barrel is just slightly shorter than a BM59 Ital barrel.

I know I would have to use a Garand barrel band. But would the barrel work?
