Tim, is it possible to thread the mini-g barrel for a muzzle brake versus using an adapter or special designed brake for the gas system.

You have .510 to .516 OD at the Garand barrel muzzle. That's too small to thread any other specialty brake I know. You could get a Standard parts drop down gas cylinder gas lock that allow you thread it OR I think there's a guy on Ebay who sells a gas lock with an extended tube which could be threaded as well. Those are the only options I can think of.

Yeah, the configuration of the Garand barrel at 9/16 (or thereabouts) pretty much throws off a big roadblock for using off the shelf muzzle devices. Adapters are about the only solution.
