Ive seen various posts here, and in other forums, as to the weight of a laminate vs Walnut stock. Today I received my laminate stock from Dupage, so I weighed it and will weigh a Walnut stock to update this tomorrow.

Laminate:
Buttstock without butt plate and with front ferrule assembly weighs 2 pounds, 6.0 ounces.
Front hand guard with metal ferrule (?) weighs 4.7 ounces.
Rear hand guard with metal band (?) weighs 2.1 ounces.

Walnut: (Will update shortly)

I've handled both and the laminate seems heavier to me but we will see now. Laminates are the most durable stock made though.

It depends on the type and density of the wood.

My Boyd's laminates are heavier and solid as granite. I was trying to fit my Norinco 305 to one of them as there was no way in hell the trigger group would lock up. It was easier to file the Chinese receiver than the stock. (I did get it to fit though).
