Is "Fitting" Requred When Replacing Op Rod and/or Gas Cylinder?

Some questions on replacing op rod and/or gas cylinder:


1) If I replace an op rod, does it need to be "fitted" to the gas cylinder?

2) I replace the gas cylinder and the op rod, do either need to be "fitted"?

3) Do the answers to the above change any if I use a NM op rod and/or NM gas cylinder?
