Most of the BM59E (from Argentina) had rubber buttplates, & a side swivel for the rear sling & the front stock ferrule . The stock, barrel, op rod, rear handguard, & spring are 1/2 inch shorter than the standard USGI units. This has always bugged me; if
Beretta had just made 7.62 x 51 barrels, & used the rest of the standard parts to build the BM59, they could have saved the cost of shortening all the other components, & save mucking the supply inventory. Tony Giacobbe, refurbisher of about 100 BM59E Models.
