Many of you may remember my post about building an AR15 bottom and needing/looking for a top. I went with what many may find a little strange. I picked up in a trade a brand new top made by a company called AR Five Seven. www.57center.com
The top has a fifty round magazine discharges out the bottom of the rifle and shoots 57X28 ammo. I bought this top because I have the matching FN 57X28 pistol which holds one in the chamber and 20 in the magazine. The top I got is the AR-57 PDW Upper which has rails on all four sides. I'll be using a Sig holographic sight on the top rail, a handle on the bottom rail and a light on one of the side rails. I can't wait to shoot this puppy, should be a tack driver.

Those look cool. I have always wanted one, but never spent the money on it. Let us know how it shoots

If the rifle shoots like the pistol it's going to be great! I'll report back on the rifle with photos as soon as I get to the range.

Those are real cool rifles. Your friends at the range will like the bottom ejection through the mag well.

I couldn't agree more, however I don't think I could afford a fully automatic shooting 5.7X28 ammo at 40 cents a piece. Sometimes I get it a little cheaper but not much and there isn't any surplus. Ballistically it's a really great round and there is zero recoil.
Yes Howie this would make a great Zombie gun double tap to the head one to the heart, I know that's just opposite from training but Zombies require special measures.
