Now that the cmp is into the 1911 market so many "facts" about the pistols have changed. Un-marked commercial parts seem to be OK and authentic. Re-built guns are void of armory re-build stamps. Strange roll mark removing sand blasting and weird park colors. They (cmp) have changed the face of 1911 collecting. Some updates to the books on 1911 collecting are in order.

Just my opinion....Seems the CMP does very well in introducing a whole lot of questionable "collectable"??? firearms to the market and creates a new category "From CMP" which has produced a higher price and demand for collectible firearms that have not been in their possession.
