This new asshat Los Angeles Sheriff Villlanueva used a loophole (since he had no authority to do so) and called gun stores "non-essential businesses" and ordered them all closed and all ammunition sales ceased, citing a n t i c i p a t e d increases in domestic violence and suicides as justification. The County Counsel disagreed and gave the legal opinion that under the Governors directive, they are indeed essential. They are enforcing anyway. NRA affiliate CRPA is involved and trying to negotiate. Paredes and Gun Owners of Calif want action. I hope they sue them back to the stone age. Silly Bastards.
Like that's not pouring gas on a fire.

If I am reading correctly, a similar Federal suit has been filed in New Jersey.

Unfortunately very vague orders here. I'm sure you folks will fare much better.
Nice day, so I just went for a recon ride, first time out in a week. Surprised at the number of businesses open. Furniture stores, all automotive, construction, hardware, etc. Most restaurants are offering delivery and pick-up. (You may wash your hands before you eat, but how do you know the person who prepared the food isn't hacking all over it ??) I even saw a nail salon open.
I think we are about to pay quite a price for this hubris.
But that's a chapters long rant in itself- What I take exception to is the selective enforcement, and operations against what an official legal opinion has determined to be a legally open business, to further a personal agenda. The County Commissioners are also calling for his immediate removal, even the libs that they are.

Gun stores closed, jails open. Sounds smart.

In Pennsylvania the lib governor wolf ordered the gun stores closed saying they were non-essential. Then some of the Pa Supreme Court Justices ......"Justice Wecht, joined by Justices Donohue and Dougherty, filed a strongly worded opinion in favor of protecting the right to keep and bear arms. The forced closure of gun shops throughout the entire Commonwealth, they said, was an “impermissible intrusion upon a fundamental constitutional right,” and that local gun shops could make accommodations in the name of social distancing just as other necessary, life-sustaining businesses have done....... After that wolf backed down and let the gun shops open again. The stores in my area are open by appointment only with the social distancing procedure in place. Those stores are selling out of guns, mostly shotguns and ammo.

Well you all should be happy to hear that eating bats, cats, dogs, koalas, is still going strong in china. They almost killed orr the world with sars, now they're trying again with corona. They just can't control themselves. They're worse than bill clinton.

Yep- and of course the cannabis stores are open (deemed essential businesses), if they don't stay stoned, they might vote differently.
