OK, the CMP thread morphed a bit, so I thought I'd start a fresh one.
Seems like a bunch of us are prior service.

Here are a few that I have digitized. 20 years and 30 pounds ago, I was a stud.:p

Pulling guard duty at while we uncrate our 'new' 50's that just came off the MEP ship.
All WWII dated receivers and rebuilt/crated in the late 50's and early 60's. Damn they were pretty.

Security clearences come in handy from time to time. Early to Mid 90's, In the reserves, working for Sprint and providing ground communications to two versions of AF1 and two presidents. And no, there isn't an escape capsule or limo ramp in the back.

This picture was taken a few years prior to his "passing" but he really didn't change much in appearance, he never really looked 80.

That isn't a hijack in my book. I feel priviledged to just be in the same thread with those older veterans. One of the things I enjoy most about doing WWII living history events is meeting and talking with them.

Wish I could have seen photos of my moms dad who was a seabee on guam but i dont think they took too many or if they did he wanted to remember that time even though he passed when i was 8 he never really talked about it even when i asked questions.

Jon, I think we talked about this before. My Dad spent time in Hollandia. Dad was rear echelon throughout the Pacific campaign and as he told me the heat and the rain and the mud were their major headaches. They did lose people to Japanese snipers and strafing however. My Uncle was there (the Pacific) also. My Dad and Uncle spent all their time just a few miles apart. He was a member of the 158th Regimental Combat Team aka "The Bushmasters". Uncle Al saw some heavy combat. He received the Purple Heart, several Bronze Stars, and his unit received the Presidential Unit Citation. My Uncle Davie flew over 100 missions over "The Hump". I'll try to post some pics. Stu
