I was going to build My Dad an M1 from His Birth month and Year, but He Passed away so I have some questions. This is going to take a long time, but I already had the SA 6-52 Barrel, and some internals,My Question is were Rifles being produced during this time,or were They still rebuilding? If They were building, what would approx proper serial number be?I may come into funds in the next few months for My project, but until then I'm getting small parts one at a time.If I am correct I would need 65 series parts, and a JLG stock, right? Thanks for any help Fellas.

Ryan, that's a cool idea. 6/52 is probably a gray area. Duff's garand owner's guide (green book) says 6,080 S/A were made in 1952. Who knows when they started new production in 52. As for a s/n, I would get as closes to 4.200,000 as I could. JLG stock would be correct.

Hey Ryan,

I've got a stripped 65 series SA bolt, heat lot A15. Not a lot of finish left on it and the top of the bolt is kinda rough (needs to be reparked).

If you could use it and you want it, it's yours.
