M1 .308 in a Sage chassis for M14 I could use external mags?

Hi! I'm new to this forum.

Does anyone know that if I put my M1 308 in a Sage chassis for M14 I could use external mags? If so, do I need any extra parts ?

I don't think it'll fit, the actions aren't the same length.

I think you are right.. i might have to mill the receiver... and if I don't, put an M14 receiver and its components for which it would be almost a complet new rifle...
