Apparently not. Well, as Col. Cooper used to say, "I've got mine."

HOLY SMOKES!! My rifle is apparently NOT on the bench, it's on its way home!! I got a shipping notice / tracking number shortly after speaking with Tim, and it's scheduled for delivery Thursday! I don't know why I'm so excited about getting this back, I have an M1A Scout that's nearly the same rifle, but I guess since the M1 is my favorite all time rifle it's really special to have this one converted to a G. If I can post pics, I will!

Congratulations, Ronin. Nice looking G. I'm hoping my BM-59 kit isn't too far behind yours. At least I can see the glow of the 90 day shining over the horizon in a couple of weeks now, and I am really excited to see how it comes out and to get it done and home again. But in the meantime, glad to see that you got yours.

I had to laugh at myself, I didn't have it in hand an hour before I tore it down! The CMP stock was so dry, it irritated me looking at it! I got a second coat of BLO on it this afternoon, and it's coming around. I figure 3-5 and it should look much better.
I do have the bipod! Not sure if I'm going to mount it or not though. I'm not sure about dimpling the stock recesses for it. I was going to do the side sling swivels but Standard sold out of the front swivels. I went with the BM gas system so I could mount an Ultimak if I wanted to, but thinking I'll leave it with irons. For now anyway.
Thanks guys, glad to be "in the click" with this one!

Benny you got me curious now, is your stock dimpled for the bipod? I also see you have the side sling on yours, but the rear sling swivel appears stock. I actually went and looked around a found someone that has a front side swivel in stock, and the rear side swivel, so I may still do that to mine. Debating on the bipod tho...

I added a couple extra images to the set of the bi-pod. No modification of the stock, just the side swivel. Stock is GI replacement from the 60's. https://imgur.com/a/o1JIo
The setup I had Tim build was inspired by jbkf1003 on the M14 forum. https://www.m14forum.com/threads/shuffs-mini-g.157135/

I see now, your bipod is slightly different from mine. Mine has two little studs that look like they're supposed to go into matching holes in the stock. I suppose I could install mine, mark the stock and then drill some small holes, hit it with some BLO and no one would be the wider. Or I guess I could grind off the studs and hit the bipod with some krylon. Does it lock in place pretty well open or folded? If it holds against the stock pretty well it may be easier to grind off the studs. Thanks for the extra pics, I'm going to try and get some better ones of mine now that I have some BLO on the stock, man did it look sad all dry like that.
