Not an M1, but I shared this on the M14 forum a little while ago. Nice experiment, but looks like it had some serious drawbacks.

HISTORICAL SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES:
1JUL64 - 30JUN65 - Detachable Grenade Launcher for Rifles - A launcher adaptor was fabricated and assembled to a single-shot 40mm grenade launcher. The 40mm grenade launcher was tested on the M14 rifle. The results of test firing indicated that unless changes to the M14 stock are permitted in order to bring the launcher closer to the magazine, this system will be awkward for handling and aiming. The trigger position must be redesigned to enable the shooter to grip the stock and trigger on the launcher at the same time."
Good grief!
Thanks guys, and yes I have been looking for the At practice toy...The surplus supply has dryed up, kind of like the barrel of surplus garand stocks for 5 bucks???I used to wonder why would any one want that junk to put on the rifles...As to the M-14,,,Da--, that thing looks heavy, could get out of whack in second.....But thanks for sharing...I did order another attachment from Fleabay..
It just struck me that the DHS is probably monitoring this site, so before the black helicopters show up I want to assure them that any image of anything I have or may ever put here is TOTALLY INERT, It will not go bang under any circumstance!!!!
Lord, I hope they read this in time.
Ha Yeah, but if RED Jacket can reactivate cannons??Then you should be safe..Your toys look to have never been used...I just Love to cruise surplus stores..Saw some 3.5 inch rockets down in Texas, that still had propellant in them...Never know what will show up??BTW, I wonder about them Black helos...
