Hmm, I've never had a problem loading a full enbloc into a garand with a holbrook.
Risk to oprod when straightening, it's a small risk but the rod could break at a curve. Remember, a Mini-G rod has already been bent twice and the inside of these rods aren't exactly pristine metal lacking rust.
Cost to convert a G to a straight rod is;
Parts you cover
Bend rod, new piston, slightly shorten, park, $100
Re assemble, test fire $70
Shipping as listed on my site.

Tim,
It was a empty clip held into the rifle by the holbrook, then loaded to 8 rounds manually one at a time. To simulate how it would be to load with a CASM mount. I'm sure it would get easier with practice, but I decided magfed as the way to go if using a CASM mount.

Oh, now I got you. I never top of a clip that's already loaded, that's too tough.

I have the Holbrook device and CASM mount on my mini G. When the CASM mount is on, you do indeed have to single load your rounds. Hasn't been an issue for me, but each to his own. When the CASM is not installed, and regular rear sight aperature is used, you can eject and reload enblocs by pushing the eject button. Hope that helps.

Thank you sir, I decided to go Mag Fed... :)
