I was talking to Tim when he was working on that one. He was having his doubts as the rifle was heavily polished but it appears the patient survived. Capn Bob, you saved that rifle.
Here's the stock it came with. (I use the term stock loosely... it's mostly glue and brass rivets)
I removed the shelac, lightly sanded then finished with USSR stain and some Tom's 1/3 mix.

I like the old stock better too. Nice job on cleaning it up.
