I picked up this receiver today in a horse trade

I have a few NOS USGI barrels but was wondering if the commercial barrels are that much more accurate.
Are the Kreiger barrels are worth the extra $$$$ or should I just go with the Criterion??
Any first hand experience with them or opinions?

Criterion.
In competition you may lose a couple X's to the Kreiger, but you'll score the same. The Kreiger may last a bit longer too.
I have the criterion and it will shoot way better than I can.

I have a Criterion barrel on mine too. No problems, accurate.
I just can't justify the extra coin for the Krieger.

I need a 1941 dated receiver to finish up my 'war years' project and haven't found one yet that isn't all pitted up or pretty much worn out.
there's nothing wrong with a USGI Barrel either- I have had several usgi barrels that will shoot sub 2 minutes with match grade reloads. Unless you are building a national match conditioned gun(bedding handguard mods, gas system mods etc) you'll notice the difference with a commercial barrel

Some of the 60's SA barrels are said to be of fine quality so what MajorD says does not surprise me. I've seen some awesome shooting Danish VAR barrels too. For what you spend and the course of fire there is nothing better than the Criterion.
