Stopped at my local gunshop and found a nice Remington 1903a3 . Decent finish, bore looks good, stock is sound but has been sanded
$550.00 ,If I had the cash I would pick it up and I dont even like the darn things

I picked mine up sometime last year, I have yet to shoot it.
For some reason I find them ugly, but not as ugly as a M1917.
that price not being much more than what the cmp was selling them for tells me that is a good price.
i've got a 03 and 2 03a3's one of them chromed, all shoot well and look good but ,i really dont care for them just dont do it for me like the garand does
I really like the 1903-A3,and Mine is VERY accurate,but I still favor the U.S. RIFLE CAL.30 M1
I own a smith corona! I think it beautiful! peace toolman just me though
I always use Lake City in my 03's and A3's. I don't think the LC kicks as much as the HXP.
I shot in my first Garand match a few weeks ago. Most or the guys were regular service rifle competitors
that just got back from Camp Perry. Of 13 guys I did OK at 9th but the winner used an 03-A3! Everyone
else used Garands. I have a few 03 & 03-A3 thay all shoot great!

Lake City is getting hard to find anymore...
Is the O3A3 still at that shop?
It sold long ago
I have an 03A3 being built right now.........can't wait.
I have 3 03 projects going right now. an 03aforgery, an 1903 Mk1 drill rifle, and an 03a3 drill rifle. 03a3 is done except to ream the chamber. still fitting the bolt on the forgery. And the Mk1 is now just a receiver and trigger guard. Hope to do something about that at the Oaks PA gun show on Saturday. The 03 is elegant, where the Garand is a little brutish. And I also love the 1917.
