Thing is they cant find other Garand parts and if they do they pay a heck of alot more than we do. The cheap receivers arent any good without the rest of the parts
Your spot on about parts. Op-rods, clip latch, op-rod catch. Top three parts in short supply and getting pricey. Whatever was left for the boys up North with the cheap PB/BMB receivers is evaporating since the $125. CMP receivers hit the market. CMP has the parts. Not so much for anyone else.
To bad we can't talk Tim into going to lower Ontario and buying a hundred.
Buying them is one thing, but getting them here legally is another matter.
Yep, I live within rifle range of Canada and I'm sol...
Beretta made Garand receivers.
During the 1950s, Beretta produced Garands in Italy using the Winchester tooling, for issue to NATO countries. Eventually they expanded on the design and gave us all the BM59 and other Italian variants.
They are equal if not better than USGI, post war instead of wartime production, all the bugs worked out, ect.

We could just have the illegal children bring them in... Nobody say's boo to them...
exactly. there is ONE, and ONLY ONE, way yo get these PB and BMR receivers into the U.S.:
- get a canadian citizen to purchased them for you
- drive to canada and pick them up from your "friend"
- hide them in your anus and drive back across the border
Good luck with that. BTW, you can only fit two at a time. I tried

Honey I'll bring a hundred BMB receivers.
Freddie Mercury, Rock Hudson, Liberace-all could have pulled it off. Just wondering. Who do you think got hit in the face with more balls-Yogi Berra or Liberace?
How about a giant slingshot and sling them over the boarder?:)
I have a few...

Show Off... :)
These three were the ones with the poorest finish. But my buddy reparkerized them for me. Now they are beautiful and like new. They have no wear and no pitting!

;) Keep rubbing it in Fluff. And now the rumor is you guys are getting 50k Korean Garands.
I just checked and my favorite shop only has 36 Breda receivers left. I think I should order a few more today. I don't want to caught short.
You ever shoot your rifles or just collect receivers?
I am shooting this rifle tomorrow. It is a Swiss K31 that was re barrelled in .308 in Switzerland
